- The members of Mew are Danish and came together in Copenhagen, but the band is now based in London.
- The group consists of lead singer/guitarist Jonas Bjerre, guitarist Bo Madsen and drummer Silas Graae. Bass player Johan Wohlert left the band in 2006.
- Madsen has jokingly referred to Mew as "the world's only indie stadium band" and the band calls its music "pretentious art rock."
