Even though Neko Case is often thought of as being Canadian, she is an American who moved to Vancouver to attend art college.
Not only is she an alt-country goddess, she is also a member of the Vancouver indie-pop collective the New Pornographers and the country duo the Corn Sisters, with Carolyn Mark.
Case was voted the "Sexiest Babe of Indie Rock" in a Playboy.com poll but is very modest about the accolade.

What do you bring differently to your solo career than with the New Pornographers?
Three guitars, as opposed to one tambourine. Makes the airport a bitch.
As a dog lover, how do you discipline them?
I do whatever they tell me. They usually say they want me to rub their ears.
What would you cook for a dinner date?
Something good for one's breath, like parsley bisque.
