- Paolo Nutini is from Paisley, Scotland, where his family runs a fish-and-chip shop founded by his Italian-immigrant great-grandfather.
- The 20-year-old singer's first taste of show business was as a roadie for a friend's band at 16, two years before he was signed to Atlantic Records. He opened for the Stones two years later.
- In May 2006, he was invited onstage by R&B legend Ben E. King to sing with him during a concert honoring Atlantic founder Ahmet Ertegun.
