- Swell Season comprise the Frames frontman Glen Hansard, and classically trained Czech vocalist and pianist Marketa Irglova.
- Their name comes from a book written by Josef Skvorecky.
- The duo wrote the entire soundtrack for the film 'Once' which featured the Oscar-winning somg 'Falling Slowly.' The story centers on one man's love of music and his pursuit of unattainable women as a country comes unglued.
