Boston-based the Slip -- brothers Brad and Andrew Barr, and Marc Friedman -- formed in the mid-'90s as teenagers in their prep school.
Since their 1997 debut album, 'From the Gecko,' the trio has evolved from a jazz-fusion-oriented jam band to a more indie post-rock sound.
Their song 'Even Rats' is featured in the PlayStation 2 video game Guitar Hero.

If you had to put one cover song on your next album, what would it be?
'Yea Yeahy,' by our friend Nathan Moore. He is one of the greatest living white songwriters.
Ever play Guitar Hero to your own song?
Yeah -- we had to intervene to get the neighborhood kids off of Marc's lap.
Did you get any advice from My Morning Jacket when you toured with them?
High-fives, moon boots and soul music.
