Five Things About Bloc Party
1. Until September 2003, Bloc Party went by several different names, including Superheroes of BMX, Diet and Union.
2. When drummer Matt Tong suffered a collapsed lung, the band had to bow out of their 2006 tour with Panic! at the Disco.
3. Despite their name, the band has never actually closed down a street to have a real "block party."
4. Bloc Party's Kele Okereke doesn't have anything nice to say about Pete Doherty, telling The Guardian, "he's not actually an artist, he's just a f--- up."
5. In April 2007, the band covered Nelly Furtado's 'Say It right' on BBC Radio 1.

What are bloggers saying about Bloc Party?
-- "Bloc Party's got a powerful lead singer, and damn good music, and something about their music says to me that they'll be in it for the long term."
-- "Everyone knows it isn't a Bloc Party show unless Matt gets shirtless while wailing on his drums"
-- "Bloc Party's vocal styles and minute detail to background sounds made me kept coming back to certain songs like 'Hunting For Witches' and 'The Prayer'."
