Five Facts about Drive-By Truckers
1. Drive-By Truckers were formed in 1996 by guitarist Patterson Hood and Mike Cooley in Athens, Ga.
2. DBT are known for their "three-axe attack," which utilizes a trio of guitars rather than two, plus a bass and drums.
3. Having been together for more than 10 years, the quintet has had its fair share of issues and have developed a completely democratic way to interact with one another.
4. DBT were one of the first bands to utilize the Internet as a promotional tool by creating a Web site showcasing their music.
5. Guitarist Patterson Hood has said their most recent releases have been highly influenced by the rise in Southern hip-hop.
