Five Things About Noel Gallagher
1. Auditioned for (but didn't get) the lead singer role in the Inspiral Carpets in 1988. He became the band's guitar tech instead.
2. Was so inspired by Johnny Marr of the Smiths that he purchased the exact same model of Gibson guitar (in red, of course).
3. Was successfully sued for "borrowing" the melody from Coca-Cola's 'I'd Like to Teach the World to Sing' for Oasis' 'Shakermaker.'
4. Oasis have sold close to fifty million records worldwide since their 1994 breakthrough 'Definitely Maybe.'
5. Noel penned 97 of the 114 original songs Oasis have released to date. Liam runs a distant second with nine to his credit.
