Born in the . . . '50s?

Drummer Stewart Copeland, born in 1952 to a C.I.A. father and a mother in British Intelligence, was schooled in the Middle East before he began making music in London with a progressive rock band, Curved Air. Guitarist Andy Summers, by far the oldest member of the group (born in 1942), had already played with Soft Machine, Eric Burdon's New Animals and on many recording sessions (Neil Sedaka!) by the time the Police formed.
